Nurturing the "whole" person.

Dear Temple Religious School Families,

As we approach the beginning of the 2023-24 school year, the religious education committee has been hard at work updating and making changes to the religious school curriculum, revising staff positions, and doing our best to create a loving environment and community where our families feel a sense of belonging. I, along with Cantor Roher and the religious school staff, will create a positive, safe, and engaging environment to ensure that Jewish learning will thrive. Throughout the school year, I would love nothing more than for your children to be excited to attend religious school to spend time with their Jewish friends, to be stimulated learning new material that will be meaningful in their Jewish lives, and to understand that Jewish learning is a life-long process.

Religious school classes are held on Sunday morning from 9:15-11:30AM for all students in grades pre kindergarten-ninth grade. Our Wednesday afternoon Hebrew program for fourth-sixth graders meets from 4:30PM-6:00PM. Our curriculum is filled with family programs, hands-on, and interactive lessons. After confirmation students are encouraged to come back and work with our younger students as teaching assistants. Every other year confirmed students also visit NYC together.

Temple Tots is an opportunity for our youngest Temple members and their parents to experience a taste of Judaism monthly through music, movement, art, dramatic play, Hebrew, and Jewish stories. If you wish to enroll your child in Temple Tots, please complete the Temple Tots registration form. The fee for Temple Tots is $75.00 per child for the year or $12 per session.

Last year we implemented an after-school program for students in grades Kindergarten-Third on Wednesdays from 4:30PM-6:00PM. The Hebrew class is for introducing letters and simple vocabulary through games, art, and other creative opportunities. The price to attend this program is $50.00 per student.

Parent involvement is essential to the success of our religious education program. There are many volunteer opportunities to take advantage of throughout the year. Please watch your monthly bulletin and email for details.

The fee for Sunday only classes is $180.00 per child. Wednesday classes begin when students are in fourth grade and are an additional $450.00 per child. Limited scholarship monies are available for religious and Hebrew school students. If you need scholarship assistance please call Lynda Dolgin-Duda, Finance Manager at (419)885-3341 and she will send you the necessary forms. The Temple Finance Committee will review your confidential request.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me through the temple office or

Sincerely,

Wendy Payne, Educator
